Montreal based Helena Deland’s song writing is strongly emotion driven. Catchy though unpredictible, avoiding to land quite where you would expect it to, her sincere pop is feminine and dreamily immersive. Originally a solo act, she now fronts a four-piece band: the intimate impulse of composing intertwines with the concerted endeavor of deep soundscaping.
Helena Deland has been subtly collecting songs for a while now. Her ever growing interest for words and literature and her constant journal keeping has made her songwriting increasingly coherent and mature. Recent collaborations and friendships have given her the tools and the will to share her music.
After having collaborated with artists from different backgrounds such as Men I Trust, Ludovic Alarie and Cri, she teamed up with Jesse Mac Cormack in the fall of 2015 to record her first group of songs, a powerful EP called Drawing Room.
